In addition to accessing your email via Webmail, you can also use your favourite email program to access your email via POP3 or IMAP. Popular email programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Pine and Evolution are supported. The following table shows the settings that you need to configure.

Notes:

  1. This setting is only available with POP3 servers. You should not leave messages on the server after they have been downloaded by your email program, otherwise the disk space taken up by your messages on the server will continue to grow until you run out of available disk space quota.
  2. Thinking Farm's mail servers require SSL secure connection and logon authentication in order to send outgoing email. These additional security features adopted by Thinking Farm are not common with other service providers. Please ensure that your email program is correctly configured.

Note for Norton Anti-Virus Users: If you use the Norton Anti-Virus program, you need to disable scanning of outgoing emails. This is because Norton Anti-Virus interferes with the communication between your email program and Thinking Farm's mail servers. The security of your computer is not diminished because other Norton Anti-Virus scanning mechanisms continue to function. If your outgoing email contains a virus, it can only affect recipients (not yourself), but in any case even this will be prevented by the anti-virus scanning on Thinking Farm's mail servers.
