Access to your data now has to traverse distant networks you don't own or control. You've heard about the dangers of the Internet. Encrypted Communications

All types of network access you require to reach Thinking Farm's servers for transferring non-public data are secured by encrypted communication protocols.

• Web-based email access (webmail) uses HTTPS connections to our web server. This is encrypted with SSL.
• Email access from your email program to our mail servers use either IMAP over SSL or POP3 over SSL. IMAP and POP3 on their own are not encrypted, but the addition of SSL provides encryption.
• Email sent by your email program to our mail servers use SMTP STARTTLS. In addition to encryption using SSL, our SMTP STARTTLS also require login authentication, which means that the email sent through us can be authenticated.
• The web-based account and domain management applications also run off the Thinking Farm Secure Site which uses HTTPS.
• Access to your domain web hosting account to upload and download data is encrypted using SSH.

As you can see, we've got all angles covered. To further safeguard your security, we've even disabled unencrypted communication procotols to prevent you from accidentally exposing your non-public data through some unsafe method.

Security Management

We use our own automated vulnerability assessment service (VA Probe) to test our servers, including the servers used to provision your virtual hosting solution. This will ensure that we know about vulnerabilities on our servers before the bad guys do. Furthermore, our automatic patch management system helps to keep our servers up-to-date.

Virus-infected emails are bounced back to the sender immediately. They are never quarantined, so no one can accidentally open them. Our anti-virus patterns are updated several times a day to help ensure that you receive your email virus-free.
